All prices on this page are estimates, drawn from published Jacksonville and Florida cost data (HomeBlue, This Old House, local contractor guides) and typical First Coast ranges, reviewed October 8, 2026. No one publishes a Duval County gutter price survey, so use them to plan, not to budget to the dollar.
A worked example
Take a one-story block home in Arlington with a hip roof: about 170 feet of gutter around the house, five downspouts, and a back wall that drains most of the roof. At 5" on the front and sides and 6" across the back, the gutter itself comes to roughly $1,100 to $1,500 at the low to middle of our ranges. Add five downspouts, an extension at each one and removal of the old sectional gutters, and the total lands around $2,100 to $3,000, a little above a plain one-story job because of the tear-off and extensions. If two fascia boards are soft, add a few hundred more. Every one of those lines would appear separately on the written quote.
What moves the price on a Jacksonville house
- Stories. The single biggest factor after footage.
- Gutter size. 6" costs more per foot and pairs with bigger downspouts.
- Corners. Each mitered corner is hand work; a cut-up roofline costs more than a simple box.
- Fascia. Older homes in Riverside, Springfield and Ortega often need boards replaced first.
- Trees. Lots under oaks and pines are where guards pay back, which adds to the first bill and cuts the yearly one.
- Drainage. Sandy soil and flat lots mean longer extensions or buried lines.
Why two gutter quotes can be far apart
When two prices for the same house differ by a thousand dollars, they almost always describe different jobs. The low one may be 5" gutter all round with 2×3 downspouts and spike hangers, and may leave the old gutters on your lawn. The higher one may be 6" on the back wall, 3×4 downspouts, hidden hangers every two feet, fascia repair and haul-away. Line the quotes up item by item before comparing totals. Ours is written that way so you can.
Price questions
How much do new gutters cost in Jacksonville?
Roughly $6–$10 per foot for 5" seamless aluminum and $8–$14 for 6", installed. A one-story home usually comes to $1,500–$2,800 with downspouts; a two-story home $2,800–$4,800. These are estimates until we measure.
Why does a two-story house cost so much more?
Taller ladders or staging, more setup at every corner, longer downspouts and usually a bigger gutter on the back wall. The footage is often similar; the labor is not.
Is the estimate free?
Yes. The visit, the measuring and the written price cost nothing and commit you to nothing.
Do prices go up in hurricane season?
Our rates do not change with the season, but the schedule fills after a named storm, so booking earlier in the year gets you a sooner date.
Can I pay for gutters in stages?
Some owners do the front and the problem walls first and the rest later. It costs a little more overall because of the second setup, and we price both ways if you ask.
