In short: most gutter repairs in Jacksonville cost $150–$450 for a visit that reseals corners, rehangs loose sections or corrects the pitch. Replacing a damaged section runs about $10–$20 per foot, and adding or upsizing a downspout $120–$250. If the system is failing all over, we will show you why replacement is the better spend.

The repairs we do most

Leaking corners and end caps

Miters and end caps are sealed joints, and sealant is the first thing Florida sun wears out. We clean the joint back to bare metal, re-rivet where needed and reseal it. On sectional gutters the slip joints along the run get the same treatment.

Sagging or pulling away

Old spike-and-ferrule hangers back out of the fascia over the years, especially where a ladder has leaned on the gutter. We swap them for hidden screw hangers driven into solid wood. If the screw will not bite, the board behind it is the real problem.

Water standing in the trough

A gutter holding water after the rain has stopped is pitched wrong or has settled. Standing water breeds mosquitoes, which nobody in Jacksonville needs more of, and adds weight that pulls the hangers. We re-hang the run with a proper fall to the outlet.

Downspout problems

Crushed elbows, downspouts torn off the wall, extensions that disappeared under a lawn mower, outlets too small for the roof above them. We replace, re-strap or upsize them and add an extension so the water lands well away from the slab.

Fascia comes first

Behind most gutter failures is a soft fascia board. Water that gets behind a gutter for a few seasons rots the wood, and new hangers have nothing to hold. We probe the board along each run at the estimate. Replacing a rotted section costs about $8–$20 per foot, priced on its own line so you can see it.

Repair figures are estimates. Small jobs carry a minimum charge for the trip and ladder setup, which is why a single reseal and a handful of fixes often cost about the same.

Repair or replace?

Repair makes sense when the problems are local: one bad corner, a sagging stretch, a crushed downspout. Replacement makes sense when the metal is rusted through in several places, the gutters are undersized for the roof, or the whole system is sectional and leaking at most joints. When it is close, we price both and let you choose.

Gutter repair: questions

Can you repair storm damage after a tropical storm?

Yes. After a named storm we triage calls, securing anything hanging or loose first, then coming back for permanent repairs.

Will you repair gutters someone else installed?

Yes. Most of our repair work is on systems we did not put up.

Why is my gutter overflowing when it is clean?

Usually the outlet is too small for the roof above it, or the run is pitched away from the downspout. Both are fixable without replacing the gutter.
